I have been been learning and working in the service of equity and justice for close to 20 years.
My journey began at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, at the University of Toronto, where I completed a Master's and PhD. During this time, I learned how to "connect the dots" between my lived experience / expertise and the larger social forces that perpetuate inequity. Moreover, through my research and teaching, I was able to help others do the same.
Upon leaving academia, I held leadership positions in education, the public service, and the technology / innovation sector. In each role, equity was the unifying thread.
Since 2020, I have operated the Fictive Kin Equity Lab. Fictive Kin provides learning and development services for equity professionals and advocates. These include 1:1 strategic advisory packages; self- directed capacity-building opportunities; and a private, online community of praxis.
